Beach Dog & Bogie’s Story

The founding and construction of Replica Lifeguard Towers has it’s roots in a casual round of Golf in August of 2007.  Coming up to hole#4 at the Eagle Glen Golf Course, I spotted a small stray, homeless male Maltese dog.  Long story short, nobody claimed him, so, I took him home.  Seemed appropriate to name him Bogie, since I bogied the 4th hole.

Realizing Bogie needed outdoor shelter, it was on a walk with my wife at the beach where it hit me…”I could replicate a lifeguard tower for Bogie!”

Without any plans, the first tower was born.  In the meanwhile, it was learned that Bogie had a data chip imbedded in his neck.  I wasn’t too long before Bogie was returned to his rightful owner.  The irony is this…the towers gained a life of their own.  An Architect was then engaged to formalize a scaled down version such that I could replicate most any size tower, miniature to full scale.  Thank you Bogie for the inspiration!
